Land of Sunshine
Demetrio and Jenny Canovas have been missionaries now in Spain for over 30 years. Demetrio felt compelled to enter the publishing of Christian literature in order to reach both the Spanish-speakers of Spain but elsewhere too. Spain is notoriously still under the influence of Rome but has also been over-run in the past by Islam. Today, as in most European countries there is a dark wall of nominalism and much prayer is needed to break through more than has been achieved to date. As a missionary venture the publishing falls short of being self-financing as subsidised Gospel literature is spread as widely as possible. Editorial –Peregrino is responsible for publishing Banner of Truth titles in Spanish, and also has been able to produce materials in Portuguese, Chichewa (for Malawi) and Swahili (for Kenya.)
Besides good reformed books by recognized authors, EP has been able to translate many tract folders from TELit into Spanish and Catalan and the distribution is nearly as high as in English.

There are many projects on the go not least: ‘Regeneration’ by Ryle
‘Expository Thoughts on Mark’ also by Ryle, both into Swahili.
We are also looking at publishing in Punjabi and Urdu in the near future funds allowing with new demands coming from Nepal and Malawi.
The publishing takes place in Moral just south of Madrid with a team of three.
