An Unexpected Blessing of Lockdown

Although it is hugely frustrating not to be able to gather volunteers to sort and dispatch books, it isn’t all bad.  Sukesh Pabari, a CBW trustee and volunteer, has been free to set aside three hours each day to translate books into Swahili.  Over the years Sukesh has translated over 30 books but his role as pastor of a church in Clevedon, near Bristol, has limited his translation work.

Lockdown has afforded him the opportunity to translate Mysterious Ways by David Kingdon, one of the titles in The Preacher’s Collection (see previous item).  In fact, he has finished the first draft which has been checked by a brother in Tanzania and he is working on a second draft which will then go to Kenya for a second check. And he has started to translate another key title: Preaching, Pure and Simple by Stuart Olyott.
