We, who enjoy English as our first language have an unrivalled and rich heritage of Christian literature from the Puritans and onwards. The Church elsewhere has so little of that which many of us take for granted. Christian Books Worldwide is a new mission which exists to provide as freely as possible books for the theological training of pastors and other Christians in both English and other languages, which will assist the Church to grow in the truth and to avoid error.
Christian Books Worldwide works alongside Pastor Training International (PTI) providing sound evangelical, reformed teaching material whilst also publishing in German, Spanish and Russian, to bring good reformed literature to the Western world. Recent ventures include publishing in Punjabi, Urdu, Chichewa and Swahili,
Converts are coming to faith in Christ in large numbers in many parts of the world, but they have little in the way of Scripture and other Bible helps.
Christian Books Worldwide is actively addressing this need by providing proven, helpful teaching for spiritually hungry Christians.
Christian Books Worldwide is seeking to be a servant to the Church in passing on carefully selected books as reasonably as possible to help pastors and other Christian workers with limited resources. Appreciative pastors attend
conferences run by PTI in Ethiopia, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Zambia, India and Cambodia. Urgent requests from other countries continue to be considered (See website: < http://www.pastor-training.org/ > )
It has been established recently that there are at last 160,000 pastors in West Africa who have received no formal theological training. Letters of appreciation from pastors who have received a small selection of good books are really touching because these form their only library.
Please pray with us that this new mission will be blessed by our Sovereign God for the training of pastors and teachers and the strengthening of Christians in many places to embrace and contend for the ‘Faith’.
